About Molly and Rob

From Flemingsburg, Kentucky, Molly Crain’s talents reside at the intersection of law and communication studies. Molly has a J.D. from the University of Kentucky, as well as two degrees in Communications: an M.A. in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and a B.A. in Writing, Rhetoric, and Communication from Transylvania University. Taken together, each provide Molly with a unique lens through which she identifies administrative obstacles and imagines better paths forward.

Over the years, Molly has used her strengths as a writer and organizer to work towards pragmatic, incremental change. Today, Molly serves on the Lexington Tree Board and has clerked at the Franklin Circuit Court. In 2022, she won the Kentucky Bar Association Student Writing Competition.

Before law school, Molly worked in the field of communications as Assistant Director of Emerge Kentucky, and earlier, as Communications and Volunteer Coordinator for Kentucky Voices for Health. Notable internships Molly has had include: BBC Worldwide, and U.S. Congress. Now co-manager of Kestrel Consulting, she is excited to put all of her diverse experiences to a more unified purpose.

A Louisville, Kentucky native, Rob Fenton is an experienced advocate, strategist, and all-around policy enthusiast. Rob holds a Master’s of Public Administration in Policy Analysis from the University of Kentucky’s Martin School of Public Policy & Administration, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Butler University.

In both academic and professional settings, Rob has been deeply interested and involved in policy, politics, and their intersections. Major areas of Rob’s work experience include: voter education, field organizing and strategy, non-profit volunteer management, legislative research, and comparative policy analysis. A great conversationalist and casually described as “very online,” there is very little that occurs in common culture that Rob does not (a) hear about, and (b), retain.

More recently, Rob has worked as a policy analyst for the Louisville non-profit Whitney/Strong. Prior, Rob ran his own Louisville-based consulting firm, Fenton Progressive Solutions, working for a variety of campaigns and causes. Excited to launch yet another small business endeavor, he is eager for the opportunity to positively affect Kentucky on a broader scale.
